The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the effect of smear layer removal and retention using two different final irrigating solutions on the dislocation resistance of a calcium-silicate-based sealer cement- CeraSeal, compared to an epoxy-resin-based sealer- AH Plus.The results showed that smear layer removal enhanced the POBS of one sealer whereas it acted negatively for another. Hence, it is important to know if smear layer removal should be done for a specific category of sealers.
