Summer, 1955...
When Jean joins her friend Jackie on a Greek island holiday, she expects sun, sea and sand.
As soon as she reaches the airport she is made to feel unwelcome, particularly by Jackie's cousin Teddy. The group are wealthy and sophisticated. Jean, stuck in a dull job and living at home, feels childish by comparison.
The shared shock of a break-in at their villa builds some common ground, and Jean begins to feel less isolated. Getting to know Teddy better distracts her from the odd things that keep happening, which no one else seems to notice.
