During one of his journeys, Ayren stumbles upon a sanctuary guarded under the order of the former Emperor. Inside, he encounters Loon-a half-dragon imprisoned and bound by chains, his life mana, the purest and rarest form of energy, being drained and stored in an ancient artifact. Ayren instantly recognizes the significance of this mana, realizing Loon's true nature.
Reluctantly, Ayren frees Loon, but in doing so, he breaks an ancient contract. The mages who once helped the Emperor imprison Loon regain their memories and begin hunting the half-dragon once more. Ayren learns that Loon is far more than a prisoner-he is the Moon's Herald, the God of Life, and protector of the Life and Death Cycle.
As they embark on a perilous journey to stop the ancient guild of mages from reclaiming Loon, the bond between them deepens. What starts as a relationship of protector and ally evolves into something more intimate as Ayren and Loon share moments of trust, tenderness, and connection. Loon finds his first true ally-and lover-in Ayren, while Ayren, for the first time in his cursed life, finds someone he can call home and family.
