The purpose of this study was to describe the attitudes and hygiene practices of adolescent girls during menstruation at the Mapendano Technical High School in KisanganiOur primary objective was to promote good hygiene practices among adolescent girls during their menstrual period.Our study population consisted of 902 participants, from whom we selected a sample of 75 participants. Study Design and Data Collection Methodology Our study is a descriptive, cross-sectional study based on open-ended interviews with adolescent girls at Mapendano Technical High School using a pre-established interview guideFeeling uncomfortable around friends and family was the most common attitude during menarche (93.3%), and 100% of the respondents practiced frequent intimate washing with frequent changes of sanitary pads during menstruation.This study shows that feeling uncomfortable around friends and family was the most common reaction during menarche (93.3%), while a 2018 UNICEF study in the DRC on menstrual hygiene management revealed that 45.2% of girls in North Kivu.
