We recommend a set of colored pencils and a drawing pad. However learning to draw can be done with a basic pencil and copy paper as well. If you are just getting started we would suggest getting basic tools to make sure you enjoy drawing first.

This book will be a great tool for beginners or advanced artists looking to get better at drawing Figures and People. The drawings do have some detail to them but that is always on the last step making it easy for beginner students to start out with the simpler version and then work to get better at the advanced versions.
