Written by the Honorable KaTrina Chantelle Griffin in collaboration with Chief Justice Johnson herself, Behind the Gavel chronicles Chief Justice Johnson's path from student to lawyer, judge, and ultimately Chief Justice. Readers will discover her experiences as one of only two Black women in her graduating class at Louisiana State University Law School, her work advancing civil rights and educational opportunity throughout the South, her service with the New Orleans Legal Assistance Corporation, and her historic rise through the ranks of the Louisiana judiciary.
