Those who found pleasure reading Jules Verne will very likely enjoy this science fiction / adventure story. Love for nature and plausible advancements in technology, combined into a special kind of romanticism, are essential guidelines throughout the whole story. Contrary to Jules Verne's works, in which few or no women have a leading role, a steady interaction between uncommon men and extraordinary women, in a context of diversity, gives this book a dynamic social trait. The reader has to cope with moral and philosophical dilemmas, dealt with in an easy and logical way. References to the old continent and to the present time abound; some stereotypes are smashed to smithereens, others seem to hold true. In principle offered to young people, this work may also attract not so young readers with an open mind and a heart for adventure.
