Hand to Hand Combat, also known as Field Manual 21-150 is a brilliant example of the transition between WW2 close combat and the start of the Cold War's doctrine.
This clear manual is designed for training instructors to deliver material that is unarmed, unarmed vs. bayonet / pistol / rifle and the use of the knife, garrotte, bayonet and more as field weapons.
It is lucidly descriptive and contains a wide array of photography and supporting diagrams across strikes, locks, throws, disarms, strangles. It also contains support material on detention / searching of prisoners.
A unique insight is also supplied in notes for instructors on what equipment, timing and environments are needed to bring the material to life for the soldiers in training.
