Little Bat flies home to the barn at dawn, when the other animals are already asleep-the doves on their perch, the horse on her feet, the cat curled in the hay. But Little Bat can't sleep like any of them. She hangs upside down, and she's sure she's doing it wrong. Then a gentle spider shows her she isn't the only one who hangs, she discovers her own cozy way to settle, and Mama shows her the truth: your way is yours, and upside down was never wrong.
Is it scary? No. This is a soft, reassuring Halloween story for sensitive little ones-a cozy autumn barn, a harvest moon, and one friendly glowing pumpkin. No ghosts, monsters, or frightening images.
A good fit if you're looking for:
- A not-scary Halloween book for a toddler or preschooler who scares easily
- A calming, rhyming bedtime story to wind down at the end of the day
- A gentle story about being different, self-acceptance, and belonging
- A gift for a child who loves bats, owls, and other nocturnal animals
- A read-aloud for home, preschool, or a classroom autumn shelf
Inside: 16 softly rhyming spreads for ages 3-5, a warm mama-and-child ending that comforts without fixing a thing, and a short, accurate back-page note about how real bats rest upside down.
The heart of the book: you don't have to sleep-or be-like everyone else. There is more than one right way to rest.
Add Little Bat to your bedtime stack, and let your child drift off knowing their way is exactly right.
