Full of free verse poems inspired by the writing style of Joyce Rupp, Gifts of the Spirit tells the personal story of author Carol Gunzelmann, her trials and tribulations, her many prayers, and, most importantly, her spiritual revelations as she trekked through the journey of life.

As an abuse survivor, Gunzelmann's poems are raw and genuine; they offer hope and inspiration to all believers, but especially those in recovery from abuse or trauma, as she is. Although her poems are specific to only her, the unfortunate universality of her life applies to a multitude of people, and her poems give a glimpse into a difficult but hopeful life, one worth living. If you're looking for a collection of spiritual, emotion-packed poems, Gifts of the Spirit would be perfect for you.
