Dieser Band der T-Reality Series widmet sich einem der anspruchsvollsten Probleme der zeitgenössischen Theorie des Bewusstseins: der Genese des identifikatorischen Bezugs im neuro-kognitiven Bereich. Ausgehend von der lokalen Organisation von Erfahrung durch Körper, Zeit und Raum untersucht das Buch, wie sich ein relativ stabiles Zentrum schrittweise in eine Konfiguration verwandelt, die als privilegierter personaler Bezug fungiert.
Im Unterschied zu vereinfachenden Modellen wird das Selbst hier weder als substanzielle Instanz noch als blo er sprachlicher oder theoretischer Irrtum behandelt. Es wird vielmehr als Funktion der Bindung analysiert: als eine Konfiguration, die Relevanz selektiert, Kontinuität organisiert, Salienz moduliert, autobiographische Kohärenz stabilisiert und das Feld der Erfahrung um eine operative Zentralität herum strukturiert.
Das Buch entwickelt diese These Schritt für Schritt:
von der Differenz zwischen Lokalität der Erfahrung und Identifikation,
über den Körper als privilegierten Pol der Aneignung,
über zeitliche Kontinuität und autobiographische Kohärenz,
über das implizite Ich, Rekursivität und Selbstbezug,
bis hin zu affektiver Investition, identitärer Trägheit und der Unsichtbarkeit der Bindung.
Im Hintergrund stehen Autoren und Problemfelder aus der gegenwärtigen Debatte, darunter Metzinger, Gallagher, Zahavi, Clark, Hohwy, Friston, Damasio und Seth. Doch dieses Buch ist keine blo e Kommentierung bestehender Theorien. Es entwickelt eine eigenständige, systematische Rekonstruktion des Selbst als stabile, aber nicht fundierende Konfiguration.
Damit schlägt der Band eine präzise theoretische Brücke zwischen Philosophie des Geistes, Neurophilosophie, Predictive Processing, Embodiment und Bewusstseinsforschung. Zugleich bereitet er den nächsten Schritt der Untersuchung vor: die Frage, warum eine funktionale Konfiguration wie das Selbst, sobald sie hinreichend stabilisiert ist, als unmittelbare Realität erscheint und nicht mehr als Modell oder organisierende Bindung.
