From The Forecastle To The Pulpit is a non-fiction book written by Charles J. Jones and published in 1884. The book is an account of the author's fifty-year experience among sailors, from his early days as a seaman to his later years as a preacher. The book is divided into two parts, the first of which is a memoir of the author's life at sea, and the second part is an account of a remarkable religious revival that took place on board a ship. In the first part of the book, Jones describes his experiences as a sailor, including his travels to various parts of the world and his encounters with different cultures. He also shares his observations on the hardships and dangers of life at sea, as well as the camaraderie and sense of community among sailors. The second part of the book focuses on a religious awakening that occurred on board a ship during which many sailors were converted to Christianity. Jones describes the events leading up to the revival, the preaching and teaching that took place, and the remarkable transformation that occurred in the lives of the sailors. Overall, From The Forecastle To The Pulpit is a fascinating and inspiring account of a man's life at sea and his experience of a religious revival among sailors. The book offers a unique perspective on the maritime world of the 19th century and the role of religion in the lives of sailors. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
