Depuis des siècles, le nom de Lucifer est synonyme de l'adversaire de Dieu - l'ange orgueilleux de la rébellion, le prince des ténèbres, le patron des occultismes de la voie de gauche sous leurs nombreuses formes modernes. Lucifer Resurrexit: Une doctrine gnostique du courant christoluciférien soutient que cette identification est une erreur historique aux conséquences profondes, et que le sens authentique du nom appartient non pas à l'adversaire mais au Christ lui-même.
L'argument commence par le Nouveau Testament. Le terme grec Phosphoros - Porte-Lumière, Étoile du matin - apparaît en 2 Pierre 1, 19 comme description de l'illumination intérieure vers laquelle l'ensemble de la vie spirituelle est orientée, et en Apocalypse 22, 16 comme propre autodésignation du Christ au terme du corpus visionnaire johannique. Le Lucifer latin, traduction précise de Phosphoros par Jérôme dans la Vulgate, n'était jamais destiné à être un nom diabolique - c'était un titre christologique, appliqué à l'Étoile du matin du Nouveau Testament avec toute la précision théologique voulue. Le Lucifer démonologique dérive d'une confusion de cet usage christologique avec le sarcasme contre le roi de Babylone en Isaïe 14 - une confusion qu'une analyse philologique et exégétique soigneuse révèle comme historiquement conditionnée plutôt que textuellement inévitable.
Puisant dans les traditions séthienne et valentinienne de la bibliothèque de Nag Hammadi, Lucifer Resurrexit développe cette identification christologique recouvrée en une doctrine gnostique cohérente du courant christoluciférien. Le Logos - le principe créateur divin incarné en Jésus-Christ - est le Lucifer authentique: le Porte-Lumière qui descend dans les ténèbres du monde hylique pour éveiller l'étincelle pneumatique en chaque être humain et initier son retour au Plérôme, la plénitude divine dont elle est descendue. Le lever de l'Étoile du matin dans le coeur du pratiquant - l'illumination du Logos habitant, la théosis de la personne entière par la gnose - est le but de la vie initiée tel que la tradition gnostique l'a toujours compris.
Cette doctrine est développée à travers trois mouvements principaux. La Première partie établit les fondements scripturaires et historiques, démantelant la confusion d'Isaïe 14 et retraçant la généalogie de la méprise démonologique jusqu'au mouvement luciférien moderne. La Deuxième partie développe la doctrine positive du courant - cosmologie gnostique, anthropologie tripartite, éthique de l'Agapè, rapports avec les traditions martiniste et maçonnique ésotérique, et doctrine de la théosis. La Troisième partie traduit cette doctrine en pratique: souffle sacré, méditation, vibration des noms sacrés, le Rite de l'Étoile du matin, le Rite d'Autodédication, les Vêpres de l'Étoile du soir, et les pratiques théurgiques de guérison et de protection.
Lucifer Resurrexit s'adresse simultanément au lecteur savant intéressé par la théologie gnostique et la tradition ésotérique occidentale, au membre pratiquant des communautés gnostiques et initiées, et à ceux qui marchent spécifiquement le courant christoluciférien. Ce n'est pas une nouveauté - c'est un recouvrement: le fait de rendre explicite ce qui a toujours été implicite dans les strates les plus profondes de la pensée chrétienne gnostique, et la transmission de cette doctrine dans une forme adéquate au travail initiatique que ce moment de la tradition requiert.
