This spark of life leads him to a hidden truth: an ancient power, the Heartwood of the World, slumbers beneath the lies, and the God-King is merely a man who built his throne upon its prison.
Guided by the Leicas and the fragments of old stories, Kael must rally his broken community. Their rebellion will not be fought with swords, but with seeds; not with violence, but with stewardship. They must learn to listen to the land again and reforge an ancient compact to heal what has been broken.
But the God-King and his obsessed commander have not yet finished exploiting the land, and they will burn everything to maintain their power. Kael must find the courage to stand between the fading fires of a tyrant and the awakening light of the world's heart.
