The book chronicles the whimsical personalities and adventures of a family whose members ski, hike, canoe, surf, worry, bicycle, cook, dance and survey everything in sight as they make their way through the world and eventually come to learn about a serious problem. With the unexpected guidance of their youngest and most timid member, they begin trying to find answers and solutions. Every chapter has an illustration by the Adirondack artist Jim Kobak III, the son of the author.
