The Emerald City of Oz is a classic children's novel written by L. Frank Baum. It is the sixth book in the Oz series and was first published in 1910. The story follows Dorothy Gale and her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry as they are transported to the magical land of Oz. Once there, they discover that the Nome King has taken over the Emerald City and has imprisoned the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion. Dorothy and her companions set out to rescue their friends and restore order to Oz. Along the way, they encounter new friends and foes, including the Hungry Tiger, the Sawhorse, and the evil Princess Langwidere. The Emerald City of Oz is a delightful adventure story filled with magic, wonder, and imagination. It is a timeless classic that continues to captivate readers of all ages. The Emerald City is built all of beautiful marbles in which are set a profusion of emeralds, every one exquisitely cut and of very great size. There are other jewels used in the decorations inside the houses and palaces, such as rubies, diamonds, sapphires, amethysts and turquoises. But in the streets and upon the outside of the buildings only emeralds appear, from which circumstance the place is named the Emerald City of Oz.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
