In the suffocating gloom of a dollmaker's workshop, porcelain forms come alive with sinister purpose. Elowen Mire, an apprentice under the enigmatic Master Corvinus, finds herself trapped in a nightmare when the dolls she crafts transform into vessels of horror. As the clock strikes midnight, Elowen is surrounded by the grinning figures, each with a hunger for her soul. The final doll, a perfect likeness, glows with a hellish light, wrenching her spirit from her body and leaving her trapped as a doll on the shelf. Dawn reveals the chilling truth: the dolls are cursed, and Elowen is their newest victim.
Outside the workshop, Elowen's childhood friend Mara Fen is desperate to uncover her fate. Sneaking in at night, she discovers Whisper, a doll whose moving lips spread a haunting curse. The whispers follow Mara into her dreams and home, growing louder and more insistent. As Mara becomes obsessed, she is drawn back to the workshop, compelled to finish an unfinished doll using her own hair and blood. Her connection to the curse deepens, and she uncovers Whisper's secret: it is the original vessel for the demon that started the curse, searching for a new host to trap.
Meanwhile, Father Lucian Graves, a local priest, investigates the strange happenings, and Elias Thorn, a rival apprentice, suspects the dolls are more than they seem. Together, they confront Corvinus, who reveals his knowledge of the ancient curse but denies responsibility for its resurgence. Sable Vire, a mysterious supplier of materials, hints at a deeper involvement. As Mara's will weakens, she realizes she is being groomed as the next victim. She attempts to destroy Whisper, but the doll's power is too great. The whispers crescendo into screams, and Mara vanishes, leaving behind a new doll with her likeness.
