In The Elf Conspiracy, first book of the Hy Brasail Chronicles, Santa Claus (Kris Kringle), his elves, and human friends thwarted a demonic invasion of his world and ours. Six months later, in The Demon Cabal, they discover that the battle may be over but the nightmare has just begun. When Candace, an elf woman with a penchant for near-death experiences, is kidnapped from her home world, her human lover, Paul Gironde, and Kringle set out to find and rescue her. Their journey takes them through the multi-dimensional Rings of Hy Brasail, fairyland itself. Aided by the mysterious, immortal Guardian of Hy Brasail, they descend through level after level of the multiverse, encountering wonders and horrors. Meanwhile, in her own struggles to return home, Candace begins to learn that the demonic invasion was only an opening gambit. Deep in the background, an ancient evil bent on the utter destruction of the entire multiverse is flexing its monstrous muscles. Candace's adventures and misadventures bring her into conflict with college students dabbling in sorcery, religious fanatics, alien-hunting Men in Black, a disgraced ex-CIA officer, goblins, an amorous king and a murderous queen, and children who may yet save the cosmos from destruction.
