Since her student, Big Momma Turnyipp, can no longer cast any herself, witch Alma Aarons casts a spells on Merk McNeap giving him a sneezing session to embarrass him.
Merk finds a string of unusual pearls in a bag of octopus meat and begins to try to find out where they came from and who they belong to.
Merk finds a string of unusual pearls in a bag of octopus meat and begins to try to find out where they came from and who they belong to.
Her second curse keeps him from moving his feet more than a few inches - until that is removed without him realizing why, but the witches know what was needed to do that.
Her third curse spell gives him stand-up Marge Simpson-like hair - that he learns by experience is temporarily contagious - since he gives it to both witches.
When his hair becomes a local sensation, Local mobsters misinterpret his hair as mocking their boss and want his head, sort of literally. He gives the hair effect to a number of other people, causing enough confusion to evade capture by members of both the local Mob and the rival group's men.
Members of a rival Mob come asking questions about an unexpected item possibly sent by mistake with chopped octopus from the distributor. When Merk learns of this he sets out to return the pearls to the proper owners, that out of town Mob.
Along the way he learns it grows back quickly, stiffens when he is frightened,
After much running around, Merk and Aarons are captured by the local Mobsters and left in a building about to be imploded as punishment for their supposed disrespect of the recently deceased Mob boss.
Merk insists he will only help Aarons escape if she swears never to cast spells again.
She must decide - with the clock literally counting down.
