Some roads should never be straight.
For seventeen years, the druid Owen Stonespear has hidden from the world in a crooked little house at the edge of Hush, wanting nothing more than silence, bad tea, and to be left alone with his thoroughly unhelpful goat.
The world, unfortunately, has other plans.
When the fanatical Red Hound Order begins hunting the last remnants of the old druid circles, Owen is dragged back onto the roads he swore never to walk again. Hounded by silent bells, haunted chapels, bone orchards, impossible doorways and ancient promises buried beneath the earth, he finds himself at the centre of a battle over the very meaning of belonging.
Alongside a sharp-tongued heather witch named Morwen, an intellectual troll scholar, two deadly mushroom warriors, a fallen Red Hound knight, and one deeply suspicious goat with increasingly alarming powers, Owen must uncover the scattered fragments of an ancient pact before the mysterious Bell Mother reshapes Hush into a world where every road leads only where it is commanded.
But the old roads of Hush were never meant to obey kings, chapels, or men who mistake ownership for peace.
And some promises do not die quietly.
The Crooked Roads of Hush is a whimsical dark fantasy adventure filled with strange magic, eerie folklore, sharp humour, haunted roads, impossible houses, and unforgettable companions.
