It is against this backdrop that the Emergency Preparedness (EP) Rule of 2016 came into effect, mandating healthcare facilities to ensure their readiness for emergencies.

Communication gaps, information-sharing deficiencies, and uneven levels of education and training all contribute to the challenges faced by healthcare professionals in preparing for emergencies.
