Help children discover the true meaning of Christmas through the words of Scripture itself.
From the angel Gabriel's message to Mary to the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, The Christmas Story: Drawn Directly from the Bible invites children to experience the wonder of the first Christmas through carefully selected passages from the English Standard Version (ESV) Bible.
Follow the events leading up to Jesus' birth as God fulfills His promise to send a Savior. Meet Zechariah and Elizabeth, hear Mary's joyful song, watch Joseph trust God's plan, visit the manger in Bethlehem, and learn how shepherds and Wise Men responded to the good news of Jesus' arrival.
Designed to help children engage with God's Word, the book features:
- Bible accounts drawn directly from the ESV text
- Vibrant illustrations that make the Christmas story memorable
- Vocabulary helps that build biblical understanding
- Ask, Do, and Pray features that invite discussion, activities, and prayer
- Key events leading to and surrounding Jesus' birth, from Gabriel's announcement to the Wise Men's journey
- A flexible format for family devotions, Advent reading, Sunday school, and Christian education
Drawn directly from Scripture rather than retold or simplified narratives, this engaging collection of Bible stories helps young readers connect with God's Word while building a deeper understanding of the Christmas story.
With Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, Simeon, Anna, and the Wise Men, young readers will discover the joyful message announced on that first Christmas: Jesus, our Savior, has come.
