Cheltenham is a sequel to The Village and continues the investigation into what happened during after the tenure of Castlewood and Fairholme Colleges. Megan's Church of Conservation is established, the area cleaned up and the vineyard reestablished with a permanent caretaker on site. Long after his demise Gerald Tamarins continues to provide questions that must be answered. Robin and Holly Luke have established themselves semi permanently in Cheltenham and while investigating the tunnel and its chambers, manage to involve themselves in business activities and making new friends while doing so. A blast from the past arrives from Ibiza and takes his place in The Jericho Foundation. Back at Chapel Hill the Luke's new live in housekeeper proves to be another brilliant idea of Jeff's, taking the load off Margaret and enabling her to become involved as a voluntary cooking teacher at Moorestown State High with a group of students known as her Chefettes. Jeffrey's new adopted daughter, Anna Bela, proves to be another Holly, much to Margaret's disgust, and is quickly establishing a position of prominence at Moorestown State Primary along with Stellan, Rodney and Sandra McIntyre's adopted son. Works of art, treasures, cash old and new, firearms, bodies, all turn up at Softleigh, the quiet, peaceful, village west of Cheltenham.
