Enter the Brutal World of Grimthot Myths
CAVEMAN TUFF: THE STONE EYED DARKIn the merciless First Age, where humanity survives with weapons of bone, wood, and stone, one man possesses an advantage unlike any other. Tuff carries a blade of black volcanic glass forged from the primordial lava of the god Volkanar.
He is a survivor. A hunter. A killer shaped by a world that rewards adaptation and punishes weakness.
But even the mightiest caveman can be dragged into darkness.
A PRISONER IN THE MOUNTAIN
After surviving a catastrophic flood and a monstrous anaconda, Tuff is captured by a disciplined tribe of dwarves and taken deep inside their mountain fortress. Stripped of his legendary obsidian sword and thrown into a prison, he is forced to haul stone through freezing, lightless tunnels.
Tuff has survived beasts, floods, rival tribes, and the savage wilderness. Now he must survive captivity.
As he slowly learns the dwarves' language and their ancient customs of grief known as Brath, something begins to stir beneath the mountain.
Something that should have remained sealed forever.
THE STONE EYED DARK
The dwarves call it the Basilisk.
The Stone Eyed Dark.
An ancient, eight-legged god-beast whose gaze turns living warriors into stone.
One glance is enough to end a life forever.
And Tuff soon discovers a horrifying truth. He may be responsible for unleashing it.
When Tuff killed a giant bat in the high mountain passes, he unknowingly destroyed the dwarves' sacred guardian and shattered the natural defenses protecting their settlement. Now the dwarves are trapped between starving wolves above and a petrifying monster below.
Their fortress is becoming a tomb.
AN UNEASY ALLIANCE
To save the people who once imprisoned him, Tuff must join forces with the dwarven leaders Granitehelm, Coalchip, Rockbeard, and Orevein.
But surviving the Stone Eyed Dark will require more than brute strength.
Tuff must descend into a strange bioluminescent swamp and bargain with Squelch Grimthot, a primordial troll who knows the secret behind Tuff's seemingly indestructible obsidian sword.
Every answer comes with a price.
Every mistake leaves another statue behind.
THE FINAL STAND
With the settlement collapsing and the death toll rising, Tuff leads a desperate mission into a narrow choke point deep within the mountain. There, he plans to lure the Basilisk into a final confrontation.
His weapon was born from the material of a god's decision.
His strategy depends on the creature's ancient and unchanging instincts.
But the Stone Eyed Dark has survived for ages.
It has never been defeated.
And Tuff has only one chance to kill it.
In the brutal First Age, strength alone is not enough. Survival demands adaptation, sacrifice, courage, and the willingness to fight for people who once considered you their enemy.
Caveman Tuff: The Stone Eyed Dark is a gripping prehistoric fantasy adventure filled with caveman survival, ancient monsters, dwarven warriors, primordial gods, obsidian weapons, brutal battles, and dark mythology. The third book in the Spell Cast Chronicles by Axel Baine, it is an epic tale of survival, uneasy alliances, shared grief, and the terrifying price of protecting a civilization on the edge of extinction.
