Coyote the Trickster Totem has been reborn in our modern world, in the Pacific Northwest of the United states, stripped of his old memories to allow him to learn new ways. New Coyote 2.0 is the first book in the series, taking place in 1990, and includes the 1906 prequel Tricks of the Light. Coyote's adventures continue in Coyote Season as he and his pups are captured by the CIA, but escape through the Spirit World, only to have Coyote captured and magically bound by the evil magician Caglio Lorenzo and his demon partner. Coyote breaks free, with a little help from his friends, and destroys his captors instead. With Caglio and the demon destroyed, and World War III averted party due to his efforts, Coyote makes a deal with the CIA to be allowed his freedom in return for ongoing cooperation with them. A few months later, in the book Brave Comrade Coyote, the KGB learns of Coyote's special powers and successfully 'yotenaps him. It turns out the KGB has bitten off more than can chew, however, as Coyote turns the tables and directly (well... almost directly) causes the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Coyote Season and Brave Comrade Coyote are published in combined form, under the title Brave Comrade Coyote.
