Shadara has been a vampire for over 1,500 years. In her lifetime, she has hunted bloodletters for the council, even though she does not care for the laws they bestow upon the kind. One night, Shadara let's her emotions get the best of her and she becomes a bloodletter herself. When faced with the possibility of extinction, like the ones she has destroyed before, she chooses a different path. The portents had shown her leading an army into battle, a bloody battle that embroiled vampires, bloodletters, magisters and even humans. She calls upon her friends, new and old, to join her in fighting the war against the council, to be the leader of an army she builds to fight an ages old decree that marks bloodletters for extinction. Jade has survived a bloodletter attack. While she is distraught, she harbors a rage that can only be quelled by vengeance. She is sought out by the council for her knowledge of the bloodletter that nearly took her life. The aftermath of their discovery puts her in contact with a group of vampire hunters that want to assist her in her search for the bloodletter that has changed her life and left her scarred. She will stop at nothing to destroy the threat that looms at the edge of her nightmares.
