BLOOD FLOWERSThink Harry Potter meets Alice in Wonderland and find themselves in the middle of The Walking Dead.Hip, real, scary, and subversively funny, with complex and deeply moving characters.THE BLACKWELL CHRONICLES are urban fantasy for today... Scary After DarkThe writing was lively and energetic. Heavily feminist, heavily LGBTQ. It starts off with a girl whose brother is turning into a monster (well, he always was a monster, just, now it's literal). More, he's at the epicenter of an outbreak, but it's no normal outbreak. Combining viral-infectious stuff with possession/supernatural stuff, it's starting to look like the beginning of the end. Which it is... The Horror Fiction ReviewPart One: TIME FOR TEALiz Blackwell didn't ask for any of it. You're living your life, dealing with the ups and downs it throws at you, and wham! The mother of all apocalypses hits you. Your ex is an uber ghoul, your LGBTQQI activist neighbor's a witch, undead people are everywhere, and your best friend has your back - as long as you can keep your heads above water! And what's it got to do with Liz's hidden heritage? Part Two: WITCHES BREWLiz Blackwell is sent to Eboni, land of the powerful Council of Ten Wise Witches. Here she must seek the dangerous witches of Lith's help. In this place of beauty and blunt terror, it's a race against time as the Contagion of undead consumes her world. The price is a terrible revelation. Returning to Lawton, she's transformed by a dark trick of fate into a lethal weapon no one understands.Part Three: A SUMMONING TALEIt's called a summoning of tales. From Liz's trial by fire with the demonic Cortell to the erotic moon dance on Calo Isle, the chilling mystery of the Yakuza compound in the Village Of Flies to the riotous zombie controlled ghetto in La Chica prison and the horror of a dingy street in London, the crew must weave together a whole cloth of truth to choose their path.
