There is Józsi, the pragmatic, brutally honest survivor, and Ödön, the disillusioned writer who wears his bleak nihilism like armor against impending doom. As their shuttle rattles them from the gray monotony of the military base toward the meat grinder of the front lines, every earthly illusion is stripped away. They are two runaways who fled to the coldest, most distant rock in the cosmos just to avoid looking at themselves-only to realize in the mud of the trenches that the universe doesn't hate them. It simply doesn't care.
