I recently purchased a few essential oils from a near and dear friend of mine. I have no idea how to use them, or what they can be used for. I bought them to help her get her business started, but I didn't pay attention to the presentation very well and I'm too embarrassed to call her and admit that...can you help me learn what Basil can be used for?
Basil essential oil has many therapeutic qualities. It is considered a diuretic, and is known to have antioxidant, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. It has a long history of being used as a decongestant and may have anti-inflammatory benefits as well.
Basil is most commonly used as a digestive aid, where it assists with easing the discomfort associated with nausea and vomiting. It has also been historically used to help combat the common cold and flu, where it eases coughing and provides respiratory relief. As an added bonus, Basil can also improve blood circulation.
