This is a fun book for beginning readers (both children and adults) who wish they could read a chapter book but are having trouble finding any that have only one-syllable short-vowel words. The subject matter is entertaining for all ages.

I originally wrote it for my students with Dyslexia who are being tutored using the Barton Reading & Spelling System. The Barton program does not include books for students who have completed Level 2, so I decided to write one, which turned into three (for now).

We recommend that students who are being tutored with this program refrain from attempting to read books beyond their ability. Students who have completed Level 2 of the program should be able to read one-syllable, short-vowel words with digraphs (SH, TH, CK, CH and WH) but without blends (ST, NT, CT, etc) and a few simple sight words.

I have received numerous emails from parents, teachers, reading specialists, tutors and beginning readers who have been kind enough to let me know that my books are entertaining and accessible for both children and adults. I hope you enjoy!
