Alberto scored a 10th grade level on his 6th grade middle school English exam. Alberto was selected to represent his high school at an All-Star Band Audition at Rice University in Houston, Texas, in the 9th grade.
Alberto made the cut and marched for the Thanksgiving Parade. Alberto as a 9th grader along his high school drumline was selected to play cadences for the President of the United States of America in Houston, Texas.Alberto Villarreal was also featured on the cover page of his high school newspaper in the December edition in the 12th grade.
Alberto went on to win high school's Most Prestigious Award from the school district--Houston Independent School District, The Board of Education Award--First Runner-Up. One of only 7 students to receive that Prestigious Award.
