The government has a name for people like Terran: dangerous.
They've been rounding up the Zombai for years, beings with abilities that bend reality, locking them away, running experiments, calling it protection. Terran grew up in a hidden Zombai town and can barely levitate a pebble. He's the worst-powered kid in a community of people who can move mountains with their minds.
When soldiers raid his town and take everyone he loves, the kid nobody would bet on becomes the only one left to do something about it.
Shuffled through foster homes and then a government research camp, Terran finds unlikely allies: Kira, a military researcher with a missing brother of her own; Red, who sees frequencies no one else can; and Hover, who walks through walls. Together they uncover what the government is really doing in its containment facilities. And Terran finds his way back to the White Room, an astral training ground where his parents have been waiting for him all along.
Then his brother returns. Lumen was taken in the same raid and forged into a weapon. He wants the same thing Terran wants, freedom for the Zombai, but he plans to get it by burning the human world down. Terran has to decide what kind of power actually changes things, and whether he can stop the person he loves most without becoming him.
A young adult science fiction novel with spiritual principles. Beneath the raids, the missiles, and the superpowers, Zombai: The Spark is a story about letting go of force, remembering who you really are, and discovering that the most powerful thing in the universe doesn't look anything like what anyone expected.
For readers who loved the action of Percy Jackson & the Olympians and want a story with something deeper underneath.
