Eric Larson is smart, good-looking, and full of confidence. When he is sent to a rural Montana town to work in the local branch of his uncle's financial company, Eric is determined to earn a promotion and be back in Seattle by the end of the summer. Eccentric Eunice Parker has come to terms with her illness and has an end-of-summer goal, too: seek forgiveness from everyone on her bucket list before her time runs out. But she can't do it alone.

After an accident brings them together, the unlikely pair spend more time with each other than they would like, which challenges their deepest thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. As summer draws to a close, neither Eunice nor Eric is where they thought they would be as they wrestle with an important question: What matters most when the end is near?

Where the Blue Sky Begins is a moving contemporary story that balances humor and small-town charm with deeper questions about loss and what it looks like to say good-bye.
