Richard Hayden and his son Steven are involved in the drug dealing business. One of the drug deals goes bad and Steven gets killed. While Richard is in a car chase after the men that have killed his son, he gets involved in a car accident. His car rolls over and he's thrown from the car. He collides with a pregnant black woman named Janet Brown, who is walking on the sidewalk. Richard and Janet both lose consciousness. Later that day Richard awakens in the hospital. He finds out that his spirit has returned to the wrong body. He's in Janet's body. But nobody believes him and he's sent to a mental ward. A few days later Janet comes out of her coma in Richard's body. Weeks later when she recovers from her severe injuries, she visits Richard and together they try to switch back to their own bodies. Their attempt fails. Richard's son was killed by members of a black gang. Being in Janet's body makes it easy for Richard to infiltrate the gang to find the men who killed his son. He manages to kill them one by one, but in the end he gets killed himself. Janet is left to deal with the fact that she can never go back to her own body and the life that she knew before.
