The Wound and the Wing: Verses from the Inner Sanctum
These poems move through initiatic tradition, Hermetic philosophy, and the interior life of a woman who has refused, consistently, to look away from herself. They are spare, precise, and occasionally ferocious. They do not comfort. They witness.
Across twenty-one poems - each accompanied by original ink illustrations by the author - the collection traces the alchemical arc of dissolution and reconstitution: the self stripped of its defences, examined, and slowly, unglamorously, rebuilt. The subjects include the body's knowledge before the mind consents, the second silence that knows what the first silence was hiding, the wound that becomes a skill, the forgiveness done in private without the correct feelings, and the fear unpacked for the fortieth time.
The poems draw on the Western esoteric tradition - alchemy, Freemasonry, Hermetic philosophy - as a working structure. The geometry is real. So is the spiral.
The Wound and the Wing is for readers who have lived seriously, who know the difference between transformation and its performance, and who are not looking for resolution so much as company in the unresolved.
