Beneath the forests of ancient Vaelthara, something is changing.
The trees are beginning to move.
Five years before the arrival of the Malloch, the future is already unraveling.
On the colony world of Sylos IV, former Timekeeper Director Corlyn Windstream oversees the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of Anari refugees as entire worlds vanish into silence. Across the Confederation, a killer known only as the Office Killer leaves behind impossible murder scenes where victims are arranged as though still living ordinary lives. Detective Kholfax follows the trail through collapsing cities and dying timelines toward a truth older than recorded history itself.
Then the barriers fail.
Refugees begin fleeing into the distant past.
Killers vanish into forgotten forests.
And the ancient world of Vaelthara begins to change.
Far from the ruins of the future, Kellyn Windstream returns to Drakkenwyld Forest leading two flights of dragon riders after restoring dragons once thought extinct. But victory lasts only moments before undead forces rise beneath the hills of Draknest and whispers spread of a growing movement among the Wolf Clan of Faelwyn Holt.
A movement calling for peace.
Not peace through victory.
Peace through surrender.
Hidden among the forests of the north, dark druids preach that the wars between the Twelve Races must end before they awaken the future apocalypse known as the Malloch. Some among the Wolf Clan have begun listening. Others are preparing for civil war. And as forests spread unnaturally across human lands, swallowing roads, villages, and timber camps beneath explosive living growth, Kellyn is sent into the heart of a continent already beginning to fracture.
But something else has crossed into the past.
Something hunting.
As ancient clans divide, refugees flood forgotten forests, and the boundaries between timelines begin to fail, Kellyn must uncover whether the Wolf Clan can still be saved... or whether the first battle for the future of the Anari has already been lost.
Wolves of the Walking Forest is the second volume of The Time Bureau Files, an epic mythic fantasy saga blending time travel, living forests, dragon riders, ancient civilizations, ecological warfare, cosmic horror, and fractured timelines into a sweeping story of continuity, memory, and survival across worlds and ages.
