Evelyn is flanked by Clara and Jack-her unconventional chosen family-trying to steady the ship of governance while hostile councilman Thomas Finch begins a covert campaign to discredit and depose her. Simultaneously, journalist Lucas and his partner Nathan return to town, digging into missing zoning records, falsified contracts, and a mysterious underground hatch labeled WFP-RES-0624. What they uncover connects to a decades-old shadow project-and directly implicates Finch.
As tensions rise, surveillance deepens, and intimidation mounts, the group uncovers a growing web of political betrayal, hidden facilities, and corrupted government infrastructure. While Evelyn is ousted from power under a veil of public manipulation, the true face of the enemy emerges: a chilling alliance between Finch and a shadowy government operative, Agent Roth.
The screenplay ends with a sharp turn into thriller territory, as Evelyn and Jack realize they're in a race against time not just to expose the truth-but to survive it.
