On the hills near Bethlehem, young Ben loves helping his dad care for their sheep. As the sun sets and the stars begin to shine, Ben listens closely while his father tells stories of brave shepherds from long ago-especially a boy named David, the shepherd who trusted God and became Israel's great shepherd-king.
Ben wonders if God still keeps His promises like that.
Then one extraordinary night, everything changes.
The dark sky suddenly fills with light. Angels appear with joyful news: a new King has been born-right here in Bethlehem! Leaving their flocks behind, Ben and his dad hurry to find the baby. But this is no ordinary child. This is the promised Shepherd-King, the one who has come to find and rescue God's lost sheep.
Told in gentle, flowing rhyme, When Ben Met the Baby King is a warm and engaging retelling of the Christmas story for children aged 5-8. With vivid imagery and simple, memorable language, it helps young readers connect the story of David with the birth of Jesus, showing how God's promises unfold across the Bible.
Perfect for bedtime reading, classroom use, Sunday school, or family devotions, this lyrical picture book invites children and adults alike to pause, wonder, and rejoice at the good news of Christmas.
Part of the Golden Thread Bible Stories series, this book helps children see the Bible as one big story-God's loving rescue plan, promised long ago and fulfilled in Jesus.
A meaningful Christmas gift that will be treasured year after year, When Ben Met the Baby King gently points young hearts to the joy, hope, and love found in Bethlehem.
