What I Wrote Instead isn't quite a poetry collection.
It isn't quite a novella either.
It's what happens when someone who can't explain himself starts writing everything down.
Five chapters follow a mind moving through love, obsession, isolation, self-destruction, repetition, and finally something resembling understanding.
Between the poems are fragments of a life falling apart and slowly being reconstructed.
Some things are obvious.
Some things aren't.
And some things are hidden in the writing itself.
Read it once for the story.
Read it again for what you missed.
