Visitation Articles and Injunctions V1 (1910) is a book written by W. H. Frere that provides a comprehensive overview of the visitation articles and injunctions that were issued during the early modern period in England. The book is divided into two parts, with the first part focusing on the visitation articles, which were sets of questions and instructions that were issued to clergy during the visitation of their diocese by a bishop. These articles covered a wide range of topics, including the conduct of the clergy, the administration of the sacraments, and the maintenance of church buildings and property. The second part of the book focuses on the injunctions that were issued by the English monarchs during the same period. These injunctions were directives that were issued to the clergy and laity, and covered a wide range of topics, including the conduct of religious services, the use of religious images, and the regulation of marriage and sexuality.Overall, Visitation Articles and Injunctions V1 (1910) provides a valuable insight into the religious and social norms of early modern England, and is an essential resource for anyone interested in the history of the English church. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
