When Chelce McConnell left her childhood home in England and escaped to New York City with her new husband Erin, she thought that she was safe. She tried to put the scandal of her mother's heinous deeds behind her and start a new life with him at her side, but she quickly found that the past is never far behind you and when it catches up, your future is in the hands of fate. When her brother Robert arrives for a visit, the tidy life she has created begins to unravel slowly thread by thread and events beyond her control threaten to tear that life to shreds. A series of gruesome murders sets Detective Erin McConnell on a bloody path toward his own destiny. And as he and his partner Bobby Joyce hurry to find the missing pieces of the puzzle, Robert Lumsdun's new career begins to climb and Chelce's world falls apart. The fates of the two men closest to her are about to collide and both men could be lost to her forever. The killer is much closer than either of them realize and even though she failed to save her own mother's life she is determined to do all she can to save the lives of the two men she loves most, whatever the cost might be. This is the second book in the Mac & CiCi McConnell Thriller Series.
