Ugo Tesoriere was a medical doctor from New York who followed his dream all the way to Rome Italy to become a painter. He married Valeria Giannini, the daughter of an Italian diplomat and worked everyday in his Roman studio for close to 40 years. At the end of his life, he made the decision to leave his entire life's work to his long time friend Father Francis Kline, a Trappist monk in South Carolina. In Ugo and His Pictures, Cecilia Cerasoli tells his fascinating story while educating and inspiring young people about what it means to be an artist, as well as teaching them to identify the different genres of painting. Explore the world of Ugo's pictures, then follow the project ideas at the end of the book and discover what it means to be an artist yourself !This beautifully designed read to me book is a perfect vehicle for adults and children to discover and discuss art together.Visit the website www.tesorierecollection.org for more information about Ugo Tesoriere and his work.
