Jericho is finally back working at his most desired profession, trading. The Yasmina is acting as an auxiliary trader off the Mattin for a trading cruise. Since it is Jericho, something always comes up. In this case, it is pirates. These pirates are infesting the only two colony world side systems on the entire cruise that he specifically asks for. Not only that, the pirates threaten three more colony world systems along with a mining system the five colonies share. If there is good news, it is that the pirates are operating the same classes of antiquated warships Jericho has come up against in the past. Operating in tandem with the Reprisal, which is commanded by his girlfriend, Alice, he soon proves to those who believe they are predators that they are really the prey of the two expertly commanded small, armed traders. The cruise mostly goes smoothly after that, until the two traders reach the halfway point and discover a much more sinister threat.
