When spring turns upside-down overnight, one clever girl saves the day.
It was goodbye winter, hello spring in Sheepsville, USA-until spring suddenly slipped away. Three Chilly Sheep is a playful, rhythmic, imaginative picture book about Esmerelda (Ezzy) and her three freshly sheared sheep, Heidi, Mighty, and Mo. The story starts with a fun, suspenseful alert hinting that IT (a storm) is coming to turn things inside out. Just when everything feels bright and warm, an unexpected snowstorm swoops in delivering an upside-down surprise. When the sheep are caught with no wool and no warmth, Ezzy's little spot of anxiety quickly turns into determined action.
Ezzy leaps into action, grabs her thinking cap, and frantically brainstorms both practical and silly ideas-from blankets to bubble baths. Just when she feels stuck, Ezzy refuses to give up. By using her imagination and problem-solving skills, she comes up with a cozy, clever solution-one that transforms a shivery, goose-bumps-all-over day into one filled with laughter, resilience, and fun. She discovers that creativity, persistence, and flexible thinking are sometimes the warmest solutions of all.
By using her imagination and problem-solving skills, she has discovered a clever solution that transforms a cold, upside-down day into an out-of-nowhere, snow-wear day. They all march down to the meadow for sledding, snowsheep building, and snowball throwing on what is suddenly a goose-bumps-no-more, fun-after-all day.
Full of silly surprises and expressive, colorful illustrations, Three Chilly Sheep is a read-aloud adventure perfect for young readers who always answer yes! when asked, Are you ready to play outside? It encourages playful thinking, emotional awareness, and flexible problem-solving. Ezzy's determination and big heart make this story an excellent resilience book as well as a gentle introduction to being logical, trying again, and navigating unexpected challenges.
