Centuries in the future, Thomas has just turned forty. It is time for his forced retirement to The Suburbs but he doesn't want to go. He doesn't believe the propaganda about living a better life and decides to go on the run. This takes him on an epic journey involving talking squirrels, a Deity that has been around since Earth's first dawn, Aliens with very questionable designs for the human race and if that wasn't enough he ends up running into his embittered ex-wife!
These Times is a dystopian science fiction novel set several centuries in the future. Society has splintered into technically advanced city dwellers and the poor peasant people who live in rural villages. High tech towers stalk the remnants of ancient cities, hidden from sight by cloaking shields, whilst the villages have returned to the Dark Ages.
The story sees Thomas embark on an epic adventure, finding help in the most unlikely of places and leading him to uncover a plot that jeopardises the very existence of humanity.
