Klaes Van Diemen was born in Indonesia in 1935 and lived in a happy Dutch family. His life was quite idyllic... However, everything changed when the Japanese invaded Indonesia. He and his family were placed into a concentration camp and were forced to adapt to a harsh and new reality almost overnight. This story focuses on the journey of a man who, after experiencing much hardship and cruelty during and in the aftermath of the war, ahs come to terms with the forgiveness that must follow in order to be free.
