Prison Chaplin Anzel Martinez was born into a large, loving family. Career criminal Rasta Jones was born an only child and thrust into a life of dysfunction and abuse. Unknowingly the two are connected at birth. At the age of eleven the boys cross paths as Anzel becomes one of many victims during Rasta's reign of terror at a correctional facility for troubled boys. Six lives are drawn together in an adventure that overlaps the natural world with the spiritual realm! This is the story of a man called to love his worst enemy, the story of a group of individuals willing to risk everything in obedience to an urgent command from above. Can today's church live up to God's expectation? Can the church love the unlovable? Have mercy towards the unmerciful? Can the people of God mirror His love and use it to reach into the darkest recesses of the souls of our lost brothers and sisters? Are you willing to allow the Agape' love of Jesus Christ to enter in and transform your heart for the purpose of divine rescue? Prayerfully, The Thinning will change the way we view those in need of a loving Savior and help us to respond wholeheartedly to the cause of Christ! The Lord will be pleased, and He will receive all the Glory!
