When environmental scientist Macee Harris returns to her hometown of Lancaster, North Carolina, she never expects to find herself back at her former school-this time as an eighth-grade science teacher. With the regional science fair approaching, Macee challenges her students to dream big, work together, and believe in their ability to succeed.
Among her students are five ambitious young people known as the CEOs-the Chief Exceptionally Optimistic Students. Their investigation of rocks collected near an abandoned coal mine begins as an ordinary science project. But when their research leads to an astonishing discovery worth ten million dollars, their lives-and their community-are changed forever.
The Ten Million Dollar Science Project is an inspiring, faith-centered story filled with science, friendship, humor, teamwork, and unforgettable life lessons. As the students face personal struggles, family concerns, self-doubt, and fierce competition, they learn that success requires preparation, perseverance, courage, and confidence.
Written by Dr. Donna D. Bethea, this uplifting book encourages young readers to embrace their talents, pursue education, support one another, and never allow the opinions of others to limit their dreams. Reflection questions, journaling pages, and a helpful glossary invite readers to explore the story's themes and connect its lessons to their own lives.
Sometimes the most valuable discovery is not what you find-it is realizing the greatness that was already inside you.
