The Right Cross is the explosive story of an African-American man in 1937, who unwittingly changes the course of his life when he allows a white baseball player to play on his all-Negro team in the heart of Alabama. Playing in an all-Negro league causes racism to rear its ugly head for the owner, as well as the white player and anyone else who is remotely related to the situation. This is not a boxing or baseball story, though both of those sports have their role. The catalyst is the owner, himself. His relationship with his wife is a powerful one and their bond is supremely tested when faced with hate-mongers who deal in absolutes. He also develops a father-son relationship with the white player that will go beyond anything that one would label normal. What begins with the love of a sport will soon find the hate hidden in many hearts. As others gradually show a complete disregard for life, each of the four main characters will have to face their worst fears. The Right Cross will move you, challenge you and put you face to face with evil.
