The Religious Order of the Yezidis by Joseph and Isya is a comprehensive study of the Yezidi religion, a monotheistic faith practiced by a small community in Iraq, Turkey, and Syria. The book explores the history, beliefs, and practices of the Yezidis, including their veneration of an angelic figure known as Melek Taus or the Peacock Angel. The authors provide a detailed analysis of the Yezidi cosmology, mythology, and rituals, as well as their social organization and relationship with other religious communities. They also discuss the challenges faced by the Yezidis in the modern era, including persecution and displacement due to conflict and religious intolerance. This book is a valuable resource for scholars and anyone interested in learning about the Yezidi religion and its place in the world today.THIS 62 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: Devil Worship: The Sacred Books and Traditions of the Yezidiz, by Isya Joseph.
